Interior Plains

Interior plains are a beautiful and interesting region of Canada. It is situated between Cordillera and Canadian Shield.

This place is full of hills, low mountain ranges, cliffs, dense forests, wide rivers, prairie grass and sand dunes.

The whole Interior plains region is a complete flat landscape with full of prairie grasslands.

There are different kinds of grasses with long roots such as bluestems; June grass and porcupine grass growing in this region.

There are also trees like fir, spruce and pine in the forest areas. The interior plains Local farmers cultivate wheat, barley, oats and other similar types of plants.

There is a plenty of varied varieties of wildlife in Interior Plains region. Brown bears, mule deer, wolves, elks and pronghorn antelopes are some of the major Plains wildlife.

As there is no dearth for food and water, these animals have found this region as their habitat.

People in this region are occupied in variety of activities such as farming, mining, forestay, etc.

There are number of gas and oil industries located in this region. The standard of living in this region is high as everybody is employed in good paying jobs. Winter is very cold and the summer is warm.

The interior plains summer is between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius, while the winters are between -10 and -30 degree Celsius.

The interior plains climate experiences a more bright sunshine every year than other regions of Canada.

This plain regions offer numerous sports as well as recreational activities.
